07/08/03: Afan Lido 2 - 0 Ton Pentre

TON PENTRE's preparations for the forthcoming Welsh League campaign continued at the Runtech Stadium, home to Afan Lido.

The Welsh Premier side won the match with two second half goals as the Rhondda Bulldogs lost their way after a good first half.

The best action of the first half saw great connecting play as Tom Billings set Craig Morgan free. However, Morgan failed to hit the target and the score line remained 0-0.

Moments later Jon Howe was forced to pull off a splendid save to deny Afan Lido the lead as both teams left for the changing rooms at half time goalless.

Five minutes after the restart Morgan failed to clear the ball from the line with his indecision resulting in Kevin Bartley prodding the ball into the net to give the home side the lead.

Afan Lido didn't grab their second goal until four minutes from full- time when the Ton midfield lost possession, allowing the home side to run clear onto goal.
