TON PENTRE played much better defensively as they worked hard for this 3-0 win over Neath at Llandarcy Park. Ian Davies’s re-introduction into defence along side Neil Davies and Mark Simmons, helped make the back line look more solid. Meanwhile on loan signing Dale Price is quickly making a name for himself with the Rhondda club, as the Carmarthen Town player notched up his third goal in two games to compliment his fine performances. Hopefully Bulldogs manager Kevin Richards will either be able to extend the loan deal or bring the player to Ynys Park permanently. Price scored the first of his two goals against Neath when Neil Davies played the ball out of danger to Jon Howe who booted long up the field. Carl Thomas stood strong to head the ball on for Price, whose run into the box saw him side step goalkeeper Wyn Walters to open up the room to fire the ball over the line to give Ton a 26th minute 1-0 lead. Early in the second half Price pounced again. Lyndon Williams set the player up when he spun away from a Neath defender. Hearing Price’s call he placed an inch perfect pass into the midfielders feet. He scored by placing the ball through Walters legs. With 20 minutes left Geraint Pitt was replaced by the goal hungry Lee Brown who looked sharp from the off. Thomas turned provider for a second time in the game when he curled the ball forward over the home defence. A defender’s attempt to clear with his head failed as the ball was too high and fast. Brown was alert and clean through on goal. After rounding the ‘keeper he scored a deserved goal to give Ton a comfortable win. Match Facts Line-up: 1. Jonathan HOWE Substitutes: 12. Alyn JONES; 14.
