A second half fight back from Ton Pentre saw them snatch all three points at Taffs Well after trailing 1-0 at the interval.
Dale Price netted twice for the Bulldogs as they looked to maintain the pressure on Pontypridd Town and Neath Athletic at the top of Division One.
This match was played at a quick pace with end to end action but it was Ton Pentre who looked the more likely to score early in the first half.
The Bulldogs gave a debut to Andy Mainwaring, who had turned out for Bridgend Town against Ton a few days before, and his physical presence up front worried the Taffs Well defence for the entire match.
Ton were dealt a severe blow inside the first ten minutes of the match Kevin Richards was forced to substitute top goalscorer Alyn Jones after he picked up an ankle injury. He was replaced by Jamie Bradford and Dale Price was pushed up to play in behind the strikers. This gave Price the freedom to attack.
After their promising start Ton found themselves behind on 23 minutes when a long kick from Taffs Well goalkeeper John Howe was headed on in midfield to Mattie Davies, catching the Ton defence off guard. Davies made no mistake and finished cleanly past Marty Ellacott.
Ton should have equalised before the break when during a goalmouth melee each shot was blocked either by a Taffs Well defender or Howe.
The Rhondda Bulldogs needed to show grit and determination in the second half if they were to turn it around. They did so from the re-start and levelled within ten minutes.
After the home defence failed to clear the ball Ryan Jenkins was provided with an opportunity to cross the ball into the box. The ball was met by Price who headed past Howe for 1-1.
As the 70th minute approached Ton deservedly took the lead when Scott Hayward's strong run down the right put Taffs Well on the back foot. The ball found its way Price who rode several challenges with his skill before slotting the ball in the back of the goal.
Following some Taffs Well pressure Ton counter-attacked with Price in the 85th minute and just as looked like he was about to grab his hattrick a defender knocked him off his feet in the box. As a result Ton appealed for a penalty but the referee ruled it out and the next time the ball went out of play booked Price for diving.
Ton Pentre held out for the win that keeps them in third place in the league table.
