Jamie Michael and substitute Kristian Orchard scored the goals for the Rhondda Bulldogs as Ton Pentre took all three points away from Bryntirion Athletic to maintain third place in Division One.
Both teams had their chances in the first half but Bryntirion were unable to make the final ball count. It was very much the same for Ton as each attack broke down just outside the box.
Ton made the breakthrough in the 33rd minute when the Bryntirion goalkeeper was unable to hold onto the ball when went to stop a cross. It found its way to Jamie Michael on the edge of the box who managed to squeeze it through everyone in front of him and into the net.
During the second half the Bryntirion keeper made several poor clearances that saw the ball land at the feet of Ton Pentre players. Dale Price had the first attempt to lob the goalie from one of these clearances but the ball bounced wide. Another two chances fell to Ryan Jenkins but he too was unable to get his lob and shot on target.
Before being substituted a ball over the top of the Bryntirion defence gave Jenkins a clear run and shot at goal but again the attempt went wide keeping Bryntirion in the game.
Michael and Jenkins were replaced by Dwayne Mardenborough and Kristian Orchard in the 77th minute as manager Kevin Richards decided to go for a fresh attacking line.
Following a scare in the Ton box the Bulldogs soon got the ball up the other end of the pitch where Mardenborough and Orchard linked well to score Ton's second goal.
Mardenborough brought the ball down on the edge of the box and using his strength and skill flicked a square pass to Orchard who turned, picked his spot and cleanly finished to secure the points for the Bulldogs in the 81st minute.
